Club Origin & Goals (Bylaws) – The Greater Winter Haven Democratic Club (GWHDC) is certified by the Polk County Democratic Party & the Florida Democratic Party. Our goal is to work within Winter Haven, and surrounding communities, to get Democrats elected by engaging in activities that help to get out the vote.
What We Believe In/Stand For – The principles we carry forward in everything we do:
Civil Rights – Equal rights for all people
Education – Public education excellence
Gun Safety – Common sense guns laws
Health Care – Quality, affordable health care for all
Immigration – Fair treatment for everyone, while creating a path for all to earn a stake in the American Dream
Economy – An economy where everyone can prosper, anchored by a living wage for all
Our Environment – Protect our land, our water, and our beaches including their inhabitants
Voter Rights – Protect the right to vote for everyone
Women & Families – Fight wage discrimination and violence against women, while protecting access to reproductive care
Community Commitment/Involvement – The GWHDC represents your friends & neighbors in Winter Haven, Auburndale, Cypress Gardens, Bartow & the surrounding communities. Our involvements include:
Helping to elect Democrats to local, state and national offices
Increasing the turnout of Polk County Democratic voters
Providing members & the community with information on important issues affecting our growth, prosperity and happiness
Operating Philosophy – The GWHDC is open to registered Democratic voters – part-time memberships & student/young adults can join through our Associate Program. Our annual membership dues help support candidates, as well as club activities.
